Childhood
I grew up in California and am the oldest child, with a younger sister and a younger brother. My Dad was an engineer and my Mom was an administrative assistant but also a stay at home Mom while we were young. My fondest childhood memories are when we would camp and travel as a family. We spent every Christmas, and some summers, visiting our grandparents in Green Bay. Music was important to our parents and there was always a record, cassette or CD playing! I was in dance class from the time I was in pre-school until I started high school and really enjoyed it, except for the competition part! In junior high I started choir, which became a huge passion. At one point in high school I was singing in 3 separate choirs and a quartet plus served on choir council, and I was awarded my high schools’ top vocal award my senior year and sang at our graduation ceremony.

College & Career
Though I went to college intending to become a music teacher, I ended up really disliking my music theory classes. But my Psychology 101 course fascinated me! I still wanted to work with young people, so I decided to pursue a bachelor degree in Community Psychology and a Masters degree is in Counseling. After 6 years of college, I was hired to work as a high school counselor, which I did for 2 years before being transferred to the middle school for 3 years! I really enjoyed working with my students, but I wasn’t so passionate about other parts of the job like class scheduling, testing and all of the paperwork. During my summer break I started taking family portraits for my teacher colleagues as a side gig. I relished in being creative and started dreading going back to my real job at the end of summer. So in 2012 when we moved from MN to WI, I decided that there would never be a better time to try making a living doing something I was truly passionate about. 10 years later and my photography business is continuing to grow! I love that as a business owner I have the flexibility to work my schedule around our family needs, allowing me to spend more time at home with our children than I would with a 9-5 job. Personal Hobbies & More
I really enjoy hiking, kayaking, and all of the other outdoor hobbies Jason and I do together! But, when I have down time alone my favorite things to do are yoga, cozying up with a book or magazine, or trying a new recipe in the kitchen. I also enjoy art in many different forms – especially music and theater, and also interior and graphic design. Jason recently surprised me with a pottery wheel and I’m very excited to learn this new art form! I have loved taking photos since I was a kid and when we are traveling or exploring you’ll likely see my camera on me! I also love looking back at old photos and videos to reminisce. I’m an idealist, positive thinker, “glass-half-full” kind of person. I’m also very organized and love making lists and planning our trips.

What Jason says about Rebecca
Rebecca’s smile, kindness, and her genuine and quirky personality first caught my eye and feelings, which holds true to this day. Her personality would best be drawn as rainbows and butterflies, as she is very optimistic. I love her loyal, reliable, respectful and loving personality and admire her diligent care towards children. I trust her with my life, and hope that our child grows up to be the model citizen I consider Rebecca to be.
